Hi

I just bought a dome tent and on first errection it seemed difficult. We discovered that areas of the flysheet were stuck together, as though it had been packed with something not yet dry. We had to tear "creases" apart, leaving minor marks.

Is this normal? I'm concerned that the waterproofing might be affect in these areas now.

a lot of tents are vaccumn (sp?) packed and often have a sticking sensation - my front extension for my tent was the same but it did its job even with the horrendous rain we suffered last night

if you are unsure pitch it and spray with loads of water to check for leaks

AHH, i've seen this on the curtains they put on trucks when we imported them from poland........its caused by folding the material when is still wet off the press...etc

Mick S - I bought the tent from Campers and Leisure Limited, Ferndown Dorset.

Take a look at the damage...

Campers and Leisure Ltd have not yet replied to my email but I'm writing a letter too and I'll keep you posted. This tent is brand new and surely should not be this way! 
 

Gosh that's not acceptable on a brand new tent.

I would press for a replacement.

Take it back. Chances are it will leak like a sieve through these sections. That`s not acceptable in a new tent, not at all.
