Bearing in mind I am woosy and don't like cold weather much, which month do people feel is the best for camping? I had thought August would be best, but my father reckons June and July are warmer at night.
I find June to be the best time. Weather is usually good, the nights are light, and the kids are still at school so the sites are relatively quiet. Sites are in better condition then because they have not had the heavy summer use.
It's also the best time to see the countryside for those of you who live in towns and cities.
Hi
Spring and Autumn but that is for the bird watching.
I prefer Cooler weather You can always keep warm but it can be a devil of a job to keep cool at times.

June & September are a nice time to camp just before and after the kids have gone back to School.
As for the cold, we were away at the weekend and found it cold overnight even though it was lovely and warm in the day. Just make sure you take warm layers.
I've always liked May and June. Although August and September are good too because it gets dark earlier and you can have a nice camp fire. October through to April are too cold for my family!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
