Got back yesterday after a two week stay in Cornwall.  As first time campers we were all a bit nervous to say the least.  Luckily it was dry when we put up tent and we all mucked in - even the kids!!

Weather during the day was great - lots of sun and on the beach nearly every day.  Lots of rain at night!  Last Monday night we experienced gales and torrential rain but the tent stood up to it really well - no leaks and no movement!!  I didn't sleep a wink - didn't realise you could actually hear the wind coming - a bit scarey.

Only hitch was packing up the tent in the pouring rain, but once again, we all did our bit and with the help of giant bin liners squeezed the tent (and ourselves) in the car for a horrendous journey home - queues of traffic and rain.

Spent most of the day cleaning and drying tent out but it's given us the taste for camping and we intend booking for the same excellent campsite again for next year.  Only this time we think we may invest in a trailer - less stressfull than trying to fit everything in the car and leaning against a wet tent on the way home!!

Thanks for the website - I've picked up lots of useful tips and advice on the way.

Hi saintmum
Really glad you had a good time The sound of the wind and rain is what makes camping. You have the best to come though, when you are lying in bed with the thunder rumbling around and the lightening lighting your tent up ,it is just fantastic.
By the way the trailer is a must to start with then you can get a universal fit roof rack, reason for the universal fit roof rack is when you have to get a bigger car as well.
Best regards
Rex
