Fair play to anyone who uses a 4x4 for its designed purpose. I don't want to jump on any envrironmental bandwagons but what really gets my goat is Range Rover Sport drivers with blacked out windows looming in your rear view mirror like something from Steven Spiebergs 'Duel'. There are 4x4 drivers and Premiership footballers and never the twain shall meet. If Renault had continued to market the Kangoo 4x4 in the UK as they do on the continent I would have had one.

I'm not over sensitive. I drive a vehicle which is required for the area where i live. All i'm saying is, when you get bogged down, not just on a camp site, but anywhere, it's always a 4 wheeled driver that gets you out of trouble, yet, people still take a pop at us.
I rest my case

If the answer may offend you then dont ask the question in the first place !!
Hi Skatty i did think about this, but from th wording in the e mail i dont think they have car park alternative.it wouldnt have bothererd me to park elsewhere as we had no choice on the green at Bedgelert
I miss my Kangoo. I got rid of my Kangoo car 3 years ago because the clutch was ver heavy and hurting my knee but I loved everything about it. Now I have a panda and tried to go camping in it I want my kangoo back. I am starting to look at Kangoos Berlingos and Partners and Doblos but I need an automatic this time :) You guys made me feel all nostalgic. Anyone thinking of a Kangoo with young child/children - its amazing. So much space and lovely to drive apart from the clutch.
Have you tried a Japanese importer of second hand vehicles ? They are usually immaculate late models, diesel engined and automatic gearboxes. Reasonably priced too. They drive on the left over there so all the vehicles are right hand drive.

Renault make a 1.6 auto Kangoo, usually a cheap buy because everybody insists you must have a diesel. I have a 1.2 (which incidentally I find the controls very light on), I have carried kayaks, camping gear, bike racks and passengers often at the same time and the car has not let me down. Obviously no land speed records are broken but that's not the point. The Kangoo/Berlingo/Doblo are non-aspirational, quirky, ergonomic and individualistic, therefore....cool!
When i went to the golf at carnoustie we parked off the field but the 4x4 drivers thought they knew better..........we chuckled at the £50,000 range rover bogged down to its sills........good old tractor dragged em out
I had not heard of this type of discrimination on commercials before. Hopefully its not widespread. The best vehicle I ever went camping in was a Ford transit 15cwt van, I did not have a car at the time, but what a difference this baby made. I took everything i wanted plus more besides. I always promised myself if I could ever afford it, i would get a van just for the weekends and camping, ( and at a push you could kip down in the back if you arrived too late at sites).

When it comes to car I like practical and a bit quirky - I couldnt give a stuff if people hate my car as long as it does the job and is safe and easy to drive. I used to put my buggy, my friends double buggy, lots of shopping and people and have plenty of room to take all the camping stuf too - but I wasnt camping at the time :(

Thay are the usual well known Japanese makers Nissan Honda Mitsubishi etc etc but have model names we never see here. You can tell an import by them having a mirror on the top of the back door, if you can't see a mirror it'll probably have a rubber grommet covering up the hole where the miror used to be. If you Google Japanese Import dealers you'll probably find one near you.

Hi Dave ,you will have to look at the T+C of the campsites before booking.Out Transit did well last october we had to sleep in it while we had to emergency drop tent to floor.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
