Hiya folks, just returned from a fab holiday in cornwall. the bedroom pod is very grubby and suffered from damp after a very wet weekend earlier on in the summer??
Question is, what would be the damage if I stuck it in the washing machine???
Have this problem with our old diablo 400, vango do not recommend sticking them in the washing machine. They advised me to use milton sterilising fluid go get rid of the damp, haven't tried it yet. We are going to sell this tent as we now have a vando vail 700, so will try out miltons before we sell.
let me know if you try it and tell me how well it does.

My main worry is will I destroy the waterproof properties the pod has, and it does have some, the condesation in corwall was terrlble due to a very heavy dew.
I would have thought it would be ok? I had no idea the pods were waterproof. Let us know how you get on because before reading this I wouldn't have thought twice about chucking it in the machine!
we spoke to our local outlet and they DONOT recommend washing in a machine as it will ruin the pods waterproof properties, (apparently they do have some)they did mention what to use but i've forgotton i'll try and find out and repost.
We have washed our Sunvalley 8 inners in the machine using non bio, then put them through another wash/rince cycle using one of those wash in reproofers (Graingers or nick wax OH would know) 30deg didn't shrink them and we have used it the last few weekend with no sign of water/condensation coming through.

Washing powder, or detergents will strip any waterproofing ability.
Treat it like a piece of high performance waterproof wear, and wash on a 'delicates' wash cycle, no fast spinning, and don't use a detergent or normal wash powder. Use Nikwax tech wash or similair, which is designed to clean fabrics without stripping the waterproofing. Expensive, but it's not a frequent use item.
Beware of soap flakes in a washing machine. Though they're gentle on fabrics, the cold rinse means the soap can congeal in the drain pipes, cos when it cools, it solidifies again. Flooded our kitchen!
