Well apart from a few teething probs the first couple of days like taking what seemed like hours to pitch tent, discovering we had forgot a few things, kids not sleeping too well and mistakenly buying alcohol free beer!!!!!!!
BUT!! weather was fantastic, site (Stowford Farm Meadows) was good (have posted review) and after first couple of nights, kids (and us) slept a treat (apart from our youngest waking at 5am, due to teething but I remembered the helpful comments I received from UKCS and tried not to panic about him waking anyone up!!!). The only downside was it was over with all too quickly (the holiday, not the crying.)
We met some lovely people on the site, North Devon is lovely. We cycled 12 miles of the Tarka trail, which was good fun.
Will definately be camping again, but I expect we will have to wait until next year now
all jokes aside, you sound like you had a fab time, and as it was your 1st camping trip i think that says alot.you dont seem to of had any major problems,so well done you.
i find it a bit of a come down once you get home,so start thinking about your next trip,im sure you can get a weekend in before the weather gets cold.
if not, then just keep coming to this site,it seems to feed the camping addiction quite well
now you have to wait till next year (this is the worst bit) but you will be looking forward to it .untill then you will have to do what the rest of us do.....................................come on this site and chat about camping
how do you mistake non alcoholic lager for the real stuff?
I was being a cheapskate, checking out the reduced items first. Didn't occur to me to check whether or not it was alcohol free. Daft thing is, if hubby hadn't have said anything I prob wouldn't have noticed - I think i still would have got psychologically merry I'm not a hardened drinker so quite liked it. (Used to have the alcohol free stuff during pregnancies and couldn't really tell the difference between the two then either!! )
You're all right about this site thought, just can't keep away!
