hi folks, just got back from perranporth,9 good days followed by 2 bad ones, which were the last 2.had to pack the tent in nice rain storm, not nice,to add insult the car broke down day before we were due to come back, luckily we are in rac,so we were transported the 10 hours home as no garages could fix it this week,i dont think the transporters are designed for that length of journey, numb bum was not the words for it.anyway,we had super holiday, got my bodyboarding down to a t now.vango diablo 900 was superb, even when we had big winds one night.tollgate farm was,as ever superb, even when there was upwards of 50 long haired collies staying there, and now it is pouring it down here,so cant dry tent out yet.
so if you want a good tent, get a diablo 900
if you want a good, dog friendly site in west cornwall try tollgate farm,in perranporth, got to go now, have a nice day whatever you are doing
We visited Perranporth when we stayed at Newquay in August. Was a nice place. Then we found St. Michael's Mount and I have to say I loved it there! Glad the diablo was good to you, we have a similar design of tent and when we were at Cornwall there were force 7-9 gusts which didn't budge it.
sounds like you had a really good trip.shame about the car really, but you sound as if you took it all in your stride.good on ya!
you seem very happy with your tent, you'll have to get some photos in your gallery,i love looking at pics of everyones tents.(im just very nosey,i know)
we love perranporth, newquay,st ives, bude, anywhere down that part of the country really.and we love dog friendly sites too.
we stayed at tollgate farm this summer, well if you can call it a summer, we had storms every day for a week!! It's just a shame that the campsite is on top of a hill and so exposed!! The tent stood up to the wind very well tho!
We just got back from Polmanter at St Ives, great weather on the whole we came back on tuesday and the the weather was getting cooler Saturday was brill. We were in Perrenporth a couple of times at the Watering Hole on the beach, superb.
Wow, Polmanter looks an excellent site!! Thanks irn bru for recommending it!! Any advice on pitches? Looking at the reviews Morvah looks popular. Excellent web site, can't believe you can book your pitch in advance - how good is that!!

it is a fab site, I have no complaints whatsoever and will devo return. morvah is a good field, but the site plan does not show you how exposed to the wind some of the pitches can be. We stayed on pitch 51, all the pitches are a great size and all surrounded by hedges of differing heights. i have to say there is not a bad pitch on the whole site. We had a great time, the only draw back was the 9/10 hour drive!!!!!!!
We have booked to go to Polmanter! There were only 2 pitches left when we wanted to go so we have booked pitch 140 in Geevor cause it's nearer to the park (the other one was 160 in Giew) Can't wait to go! Thanks irn bru
Thanks hrob487 for recomending Hendra, that looks good too, so I have saved it to my favourites for next time!
