are there many people who go camping all year round, and not just to the meets,,,,, preferably in the yorkshire area, and not in the best of weathers , but just like camping, walking, cycling for the joy of it.
Welcome john to the mad house. Yes there are some that camp all year round, but why? i can never understand. You don't have to be mad to camp all year round , but it must help if you are .

judging by the amount of replys, there does not seem to be "a load of nuts doing it" i was really hoping, to be inundated with meets from members in the yorkshire area, for camping weekends, my wife is also a luxury camper, 68%+ or it is a no go area???? for her. but i will carry on the search, thanks for your interest. john.

I get the impression that John is looking for solos who go camping in the wilds in tents in winter, rather than us softer lot who go in caravans in colder weather or tenters who only go in summer.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
spot on, caz you got me in one, i just hate staying in on these dark winter nights, and need something to look forward to, at the weekends, than traipsing round the shops... thanks

If you have the right equipment and are sensible why not enjoy camping walking cycling for the heck of it.....
I know I will be followed by "the others " who do this strange thing all year round...lolol
right equipment being caravan with gas heating, 2 propane bottles, leccy hookup, hot water bottles, 4 season sleeping bag and a well proportioned female to cuddle up to
camped in minus 4 in a tent without EHU in march and it was rough but an experience even with good sleeping kit. even worse was the 65mph winds that saw me leaving the tent for the safety of the car. wonder why I bought a van after that
Me again...Have you tried the backpackers club? They arrange meets throughout the year, they are a group of like minded people who enjoy the great outdoors without the luxury.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
