also try TARPAFLEX LTD they come in all sizes, colours from 2.49 p and in camoflague, glass, see thru, all you need are the guys and poles, which you can borrow from your larger tent, if you have one, ( i do ) one sized 3.5 x 3.5 would be about 9.50p john.

I found this, sales at uktarps.co.uk and was wondering if it would be allowed, what with all the recent talk about breathable ground-sheets etc.
A tarp as a shelter isn't going to cause any damage to the grass so I can't see that there would be a problem.
A non breathable tarp as a groundsheet would be a problem if the site specified non breathable groundsheets I imagine.

Where do you get the poles from? and will this sort of tarp be more noisy in the rain compared to 'official' camping tarps?
Just found this for anyone wanting a tarp. Not come across them before. Wouldn't be without our tarp as a shelter now.
Am probably being a bit naive (or probably dim ) here, but in what way do you use a tarp as a shelter? For people or accessories ? What other uses do they have ?

The uses of a tarp are endless.
The main advantage for me is that it allows me to walk into the hills carrying less than 6 kilo and spend the nights in some of the most beautiful and peaceful locations in the uk. Tents are great when circumstances demand but they don't really compare with actually sleeping in the open as you do with a tarp.

Hi samcat.
The tarp you have shown are not very good as covers for camping they are fine for under the ground sheet, you must set these tarps up so that No water can collect or puddle or they will let the water in They have no or very little HH and in my opinion should only be used as covers for industrial use what they are designed for.
The others that are designed for tents cost more per square foot but usually have an HH above 3000 so if they should sag they will not let the water through.

Not fantastically cheap but they look good quality and the colour matches my new tent.

Hi martin.
I would say that is a very good price for a TC tarp complete with 25mm poles and they look adjustable as it give a maximum height, Lovely big family tarp.

Too true. Sleeping under a tarp is wonderful. I was tenting at Exmouth kite festival last year and crawling out of the tent in the early hours was great.
I'm getting an Alpkit bivy bag at the NEC show next month, then I can do without the tarp as well.
