i went to my local tent supplier on Sunday, to buy things that i have always wanted but just put of getting. This will be my third year camping i love it.
i only hope we have better luck this year with the weather.Im looking to stay a little closer home, just in case i have to pack up sudden so looking around Wales.i live nr Warrington so if anyone has any reccomendations for a campsite which is only a few hours drive i would appricaite it.
roll on March..... looking to air the gear and go for Easter cannot wait, my son is counting down the days.
I am so eager to get out that, for a few moments, I seriously considered camping during the upcoming half term holiday! But today's sleet and winds put paid to that idea
Last summer we stayed at Tyn Cornel near Bala. I live further away from it than you do (at the foot of the Pennines east of Manchester) but found the journey quite acceptable. And the campsite is VERY good; not overly commercial but the facilities that they do have are first class. See my review and others' - they are all fullsome in their praise of the site.
Fforest Fields is further affield but has rave reviews.
wow expensive trip! hope you got a bargain.I very often visit Delamere with my son its lovely place no matter what time of year you go.
Thank you to the people who have left comments, i have March and April sorted for camping. Lets all keep our fingers crossed the weather is kind to us this year.I have a new tent Vango Diablo which i have heard good reviews for on this site. My last camping trip August the wind was that bad it blew my tent apart ripped it to pieces, i can laugh now but at the time i was mortified.
Thank you the pic is Jack and I now have a pup who has just reached 6 months both lhasa apso's
they are very simular sh*tz tzu and ihasa apso..
did you take Jack camping- or will you be looking to take them both this year?
my Two are Harry and Toby i have not been ruthless enough to take them camping i keep saying i will take them, but Harry is a bit of a barker and i am scared this will annoy other campers if you now what i mean?
Any tips you can share for do's and dont's re dogs and camping i would really appriciate. My son keeps asking if the dogs can come with us and i miss the dogs when we go camping, but i am worried re Harrys his barking he does not like strangers.
My son is called Jacque Pronouced Jack, so we have something in common toby and Jacque.
i went to Newquay in cornwall in summer o6 and 07. Summer o6 was fab the weather was perfect but last year was awful.
Jack is a terrible barker at home and Toby is learning from him, we were worried about taking them but the barking just did not happen. I don't know if they don't recognise the tent as his territory but he was so good and just loved being outside and going for big long walks that the time in the tent is used for sleeping.
Taking the pup this year is going to be an adventure? he is absolutely bonkers and I am a wee bit scared he will think the tent is a big chew!!
We are booked for Cornwall in June and are going to have at least two trips up north before then to get him sorted, their is no way am I leaving them so we will just have to cope.
