Hi. I'm wondering if anybody has bought the 4 tier camping shelves from argos. They are £19.99, green, with a metal frame and polyester fabric with pvc backing -accoring to the catalogue (page 1194 of the old blue catalogue, item 10 - though I have seen them in the new catalogue too). The reason I ask is that I would like to know if they have a 'door' on the front (I have a dog who has a fettish for chewing socks and pants - and would like to be able to keep clothing zipped up safely out of her way). Also, if anybody can give me a rough measurement of them when they are in the carry case and approx weight, I would be eternally grateful, as we have extremely limited space in our car and not sure if we will have room for them. Argos only give you the size for them when they are erected.
not sure if this is what you are looking for but world of camping have a larder type product on their home page on offer for £11.99 - it is called the Royal Camp Larder and the detials are as follows but I think it may be a bit smaller than the one you are looking at in Argos
'Portable with metal frame and tear resistant fabric. Zipped clear front window. Folds flat. Supplied with carry bag. Size when built: 60cm wide, 30cm deep, 80cm high'
If you go to your local Argos they will let you look before you buy. Just done it with a 12volt pump for inflating airbeds etc. Glad i did, they are absolute rubish

We have a set that sounds the same as the ones you are describing, bought them last year. If it is the same, ours has a mesh zip doors on the front. They are about 70x50x10 (this is approx, can't get to them to measure them!)when in the bag and it lies flat so doesnt take much space.
Blinding bit of kit, we use it in the kitchen tent.
Hi Jowen
If you are stuck for space, why not use an old style suitcase to pack your clothes. One that opens up like a book or a backgammon board so you can get to half the case on each side. You can see things when you open it up, it keeps things flat, dry and dog free. Stuff bags, ruck sacks etc. are easier to carry for any distance but it is difficult to get to things, especially at the bottom of the bag. If you are car camping suitcases do work, they open up big but have a small footprint closed, a shelving unit must be lovely but it is one more thing to transport, and buy. I have this constant camping dilemma, of course I will use a new bit of kit, but do I really need it. Most of the time it goes because I'm a sucker for gadgets and camping paraphernalia, its a slippery slope. Good luck.
