Hi, I'm new to all this camping malarky and I just wondered if anyone could give me some advice before I go to the NEC tomorrow?
I'm looking to buy a tent for me, my other half and our german shepherd, so needs to have plenty of room.... Was looking at starcampers (maybe 4 or 5) but not sure whether it is better to have a sewn in ground sheet or not with a dog.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
MJ.

If you do decide to go for a tent with SIG I'd recommend using a tent carpet, or picnic rugs, to protect the SIG from your shepherd's claws.

Thanks very much for your tips - especially the reminder about the dog's claws! Will see if I can pick up any freebies/bargains at the show tomorrow!
Thanks again...

Don't be tempted to buy on impulse!
(As if any of us on UKCS would do that! )

Coleman do pets accessories which look fantastic but unfortunately the only thing you will see at the NEC are the tents.
if you search the web for this then you can see who supplies (not sure if we are allowed to quote who sells or not)
they also do pet bedding including sleeping bags
Coleman Mountaineerâ„¢ Dog Tent
A great little inovation from Coleman, with a floor size of 36" x 36" and a height of 30"
price: £22.99

There are other tents makers at the show to Vango, Khyam and Outwell. Make a list of what you need from a tent, bedrooms, style of tent, SIG etc and then look at each tent to see if it fits the bill. If not dont worry there are plenty of other makes that are not represented at the show that may be more suitable, This year they are not that much cheaper than those on the internet.
I also thought Dealers pushing there own equipment through the forums was a no no Webmaster.....splitvw67

hi all, we are also new to being a member, although we have done camping several years, have had several tents, all different from frame to tunnel also dome, also have dog but a lot smaller then a german shepherd ( yorkie). have just bough a new tent not tried it out yet ,but it has got a sewn in groundsheet, as it gets rather draughty, especially when you have weather like we had in august last year, 11 days and night of gale force winds and torrential rain, only tent on the site that stade it out, hope you manage to get something suitable, maybe catch up with you all one day
