We have one of those halogen heaters and its fab (got it from yeomans camping show I think) they are widely available. It kept us warm on some very chilly nights last year.
The thing I like about it is that if it gets moved or knocked it immediately turns off so is very safe. It is bright too so don't need your light on when using it on full.
Hi
Fan heater that as a thermostat cut out 2kw maximum just set the heat required and leave it on all the time you are in the tent day and night and you can also use the fan to cool you in the warmer days, Downside some people find the motor keeps them awake at night.
The answer to the fridge is a three way, on the large side but usable with Mains and gas and can be run on 12volt while the car is running IE from home to the site.
try to get one that cools to 30deg below the room temperature(ambient) this ensures your food stays fresh on hot days.
Regards.

I've got loads so I have a Table Top fridge - Brilliant having a "proper fridge" and it does ice too! And only £60 ish!!! Had tried the 12v ones and they were rubbish!
Heater wise I prefer an oil filled radiator - much safer in the tent and you can dry clothes on it. Cost wise ours was £19.99 from Argos
A fan heater would be smaller but its noiser and could overheat if clothes or other stuff fell on to it.
The halogen heaters are fine in the day but who wants their tent lit up like Blackpool during the night?
Only ever camp with EHU now so we have an electric griddle for cooking on.
I've got a 3 way fridge, its a waeco one that is a 30'C below ambient temp one, as in the summer, the temp can soar in a tent and I don't want my milk to go off.
Love my EHU, we do just use ours for the fridge mainly and (as vain as this is) my hair straighteners!!
Heater-wise, never taken one, but as potentially going camping this Easter...might need to invest!
Jonnmedds...I would'nt feel any shame, when cavemen discoved fire, all the oldies probably thought it was terrible and they were a bunch of wimps.Plug it in and switch it on thats what I say ,theres nothing wrong with comfort....regards

Can recommend the Weaco 3 way fridges. Large but worth it if you have the space. Even has a little shelf that does ice-cubes for my Baileys
Only thing to watch is that you put it on a horizontal surface. Ours didn't work properly for a couple of days last year and was on a slight slant, but when straightened up it was fine again.
We have it on overnight before we go and then use it to transport food.
The 3 way fridge models are usually silent when working which gets my approval - noisy fan things are not for me lol!! Heaters - oil filled radiator is quiet but heavy, fan heater is noisy but light, halogen heater is quiet and light but oh so bright it may be worse than noise if you want to sleep with it switched on - you pay your money and take your choice...
I know I'm a caravanner but I can't imagine why you would have any guilt for having a small luxury like a heater and fridge in your tent? surely it will make for a better holiday if your all cosy and warm and your food (and booze) is kept nicely chilled, think you yourself will quickly get used to the change for the better.
On the subject of heaters, has anyone taken a small dimplex type heater to camp before? my MIL has a small thin one (say 2.5' long by 1' high) and its got a thermostat, do they work aok and could I leave it on all night? She used to use it in the bedroom of her static 'van.
This is the only silent heater that we could squeeze into the car...!
i recon if it is electric and it away from combustable materials then it will be fine. Keep it away from your canvas and do not cover it with anything and you should be fine............

We bought one just like that from Argos at Christmas when our boiler died, it was about £40 and very efficient.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
