just wanted to ask what other seasoned campers would think about camping this weekend with two children on the east coast??
we went to breck farm last august and loved it to bits! so we thought we would go around easter time but when it is quieter?
is it too early to camp? we went to pinewoods in wells next the sea last april and it was our first time, and i was freezing...but i do hasten to add we had no heaters and were very exposed to the elements! but apart from that we had a very memorable time! sitting in the car with the heater on, a bottle of wine and local radio proved to be a hit!
anyway when we went breck farm, we could have camp fires and it was the sort of camp site that i knew we would love! chicken farm as well, the kids loved it!
well we used heaters etc then, have brought great sleeping bags and have read a ton of advice on these message boards! however i am still abit dubious about camping this weekend, hopefully the whole week!
what do you guys think
thanks for reading

I'm certainly no seasoned camper. I never thought I would be able to camp so early but then until August last year I never thought I would want to camp at all....
Well I've certainly got the bug now & we're off to Rivendale, Derbyshire on Saturday with our 2 boys, aged 5 & 18 months. I can't wait.
Like you I've done loads of reading on here & think if you follow all the good advice then you will be fine. Heaters, hats, hot water bottles, loads of layers etc. I've been out & bought extra blankets & will certainly be wearing my PJ's (I don't normally bother).
If others on here can do it then & I'm sure we can.I say go for it.
makes me wonder whether i can do without, home comforts etc, but the nicest thing about camping nowadays with young children(11 and 9) is that for a week or two theres no tv no pc no playstation etc, and guess what we all love it. the nicest memory of last year was sitting around the campfire all together and we were all talking about books that we had read over the year. it was lovely and relaxing and brought us back to what family time is really about, so blow the cold, cos being snuggled up in the tent with a pack of cards and some good munchies is good enough for me!
ps, last year some campers near us had these lanterns that they lit and set off into the sky, they were great, anyone know where i can get these??

Hi, Me and my daughter camped last week end. Yes it was chilly, damp, and VERY windy, but we had a great time. We had 2 sleeping bags and a duvet each for sleeping and it was toasty. Also had the ehu so we ran a small heater through the night too.
We had lots of fun, propper girly weekend, personally I wouldnt hesitate, if funds would allow we would be off again this weekend lol
Tis rather breezy here in Norfolk at the mo!! Depending on which way the wind is blowing it might be sheltered by the woods at Breck Farm but as you know there's def no EHU in that part. Weather forecast is for the wind to drop over the weekend.
oooh theres a lovely campsite at the east coast, cliff top park, at skirlington. you can pitch ya tent about 20 metres from sea, its lovely to hear when going to sleeep
