hi srush and welcome to UKCS. As you say blankets under and on top of airbed are a must. Also if you have any, take picnic mats for more insulation both under and on top of airbed. Hot water bottles are great at this time of year also. If you have EHU take an electric heater that can be left on all night, makes a world of difference. Also try and sleep with hats, socks and warm clothes on if you can. Most of all enjoy your trip. I am sure other members will be along soon to offer you more advice.
Yes we are going camping Monday, and best thing about it is it isnt going to cost us anything as we are being given it, as they now cant go!
So this will be our first outing in our new tent, and cant believe we are camping in March, we must be mad
So what can we do to make sure we stay warm?
I have read about blankets under and on top of the air bed, is there anything else we need to be doing?
Also we have some convector and halogen heaters, which one do you think will be best. Our tent is massive, and is 7 foot high and 24 foot long.
Thanks in advance!
Not mad but certainly brave. :)
It is early. Even many seasoned campers would hesitete to go out yet!
As mufc (spit ;) suggests, insulation under is very important. Whatever insulation below you will of course still need good sleeping bags. A cold night can be a total disaster and put people of for life so I would say if you have any spare space in the car, put en extra duvet, sleeping bag or blanket in. If you don't need them, come back and shout at me. If you do, I drink Guiness. ;)
Heaters will help but they are realy only a poor substitute for proper bedding and will be lost in that hanger of a tent. ;)
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
