The only "local" big store is GoOutdoors in Coventry and Jacksons of Arley also not too far from Coventry (I think). Tamworth camping is also worth a call if you are thinking of the Royal range.Go is a very good store for all outdoor gear and the service quality instore is good but dont try to buy anything from them online, their site is poor.

Jacksons of Old Arley is a brilliant camping shop Large indoor display of tents plus a fantastic accessories shop. It's on Springhill Industrial Estate in Old Arley.
Towsure in Quinton/Halesowen is good for most things, and there are two Yeomans camping outlets in reasonable driving distance...one at Codsall & Wergs Garden Centre just outside Wolverhampton and there is a Yeomans in Worcester. (down by the shambles). The Yeomans at the garden centre has a big area with quite a few tents erected so you can see them up and get inside them!
As others have said Towsure, Jacksons & Go Outdoors for big quality stuff. But Argos also have accessories, and for bargains sign up for Aldi & Lidl newsletters as they often have camping stuff in over the summer

Good tip Braifycamps, Aldi had some top stuff in last year for camping, I got an electric airbed pump, a remote control LED lantern and some other bits and bobs for good prices!
LIDL had a porta-potti type loo in too last year....around £35 - bargain!
The camping stuff should be coming up soon...keep your eyes on the internet sites for these two places as you can see the forthcoming special offers.....
Try Stafford outdoor leisure, I don't know if its to far for you but they have a tent display up this weekend at Wolseley Centre, Wolseley Bridge, Stafford, if you go on to their website it will give you all of the details,
