Just thought i'd say how great these people are, we hear so much about the ones that let us down.
I emailed them querying whether they had the items in stock before ordering , as so many times I've ordered things on the net, only to be told later they're out of stock.
anyway, they promptly replied and I ordered yesterday, a kitchen and an outhouse, they arrived this afternoon, brilliant. The delivery was only £4.95 for the both items. The only snag was there was a little tear in the carrybag the kitchen came in. I mentioned this when I emailed to thank them for their quick service, and they relpied, offering me a replacement or a £5 refund for the damaged bag. Their prices are really good too, I got a sunncamp superlite kitchen for £25, its a great size and a handy little rubbish bag holder on the side too.
I would like to add I have had great service from world of camping and greatoutdoorsdirect this week :)

hello beefysmum, i live ten minutes away from outdoor focus and yes they are really nice people and they have good displays - always open to a haggle!!
anyone else like to recommend good sites?, I only have one big camping shop near me and won't be using them except to look at their stuff on display, so it's good to know who the good stores are online.
This isn't exceptional service by any standards, this is the bare minimum we should expect and accept.
Sorry to sound negative but checking stock, ordering an item and taking delivery is what should happen anyway!!......and any company worth its salt will offer a refund or exchange....what is this country coming to??
I think I know the camping shop close to you, in fact I probably just recently bought my tent from them and was thinking of going back for other things. Do tip me off please if you think I shouldn't return!
If it is the same one I had fairly good advice but not marvellous service at the desk!
Very new to this camping thing, and have only just recently joined this website (fantastic advice here) so don't want to go wrong from the start.

Hi Debbie, I have used Outdoor Focus for a mailorder purchase in the past and found them really helpful with advice about the tent in question, how to put it up etc. Very knowledgeable and nice people.
re the Superlite kitchen, I have that and, I know its sounds silly, but I really like the little rubbish bag holder! Liddenham who used to post on here has that kitchen too but thinks the rubbish holder is completely useless, bless him. We're all different. MT

but sadly this seems to be exceptional at times it is a battle to get basic consumer standards - I for one feel very happy when an order is filled, delivered swiftly and no hiccups with payment etc.

I have just experienced a very good piece of customer service from Cath at Outdoor Megastore. We put our new Bear lake 6 tent up for the first time over the weekend and despite following all the correct procedures the pin on one of the the ring and pins snapped as if it was made out of plastic. They responded within hours of my e-mail on Monday asking for details of the size of the pin and I have just opened the packet,received today,with 2 replacement pins. Fingers crossed none of the others are faulty, but they have said not to hestitate to contact them if we have any other problems.

carterma, some sites never even email you back with answers to queries, or do so a week later when you've ordered elsewhere. the service we expect is not always what we get. so I thought it would be useful for peolpe to have personal recommendations on the good ones.
Scruffandco, this is my local store, great for browsing and viewing they have a good display of tents and equipment, but that's all i can say in their favour, long story, once bitten twice shy.
