Has any one got a Rage Tromso 8 Man tent ?
I purchased mine new from tenttastic about a month ago and finally got around today to put it up..
The instructions that came with are no good and I can't easily see how to put it up - anyone got one of these and help me out - any diagrams / instructions / help would be most welcome -
Well, apart from the fact it will have three dome poles (?) it will go up much the same as my Vango Colorado, so you could look at these instructions and pitching video.
Your ring and pin fixing system will probably not have adjustment straps so be prepared to use quite a lot of brute force at this point. (Careful brute force...) You'll definately need two people to put it up, especially to raise the dome area. At this point one of you should go inside the tent and support the weight of it as it goes up.
I had one last season, and it was just fine, takes a while to put up though.
I seem to remember the poles aren't colour coded, so you need to work out what you've got.
The two longest poles criss-cross the main area. The shorter fiberglass poles do the bedroom pods, but be careful as there are different sized pods, and therefore different lengths.
The aluminium poles make up the door-way.
When I pitched mine at home, I spent some time with a few different rolls of electric tape - which helped greatly.
Andy - thanks for the info - we worked out the three longest poles criss-cross the main area however they seemed to long and would not slip into the pins at the far end - do - does someone need to stand inside - support the frame to release the pressue so that they will fit ?
Thanks Richard
Andy - forgot to add - how did you find the tent ? I have read on this site that it's not a favourite, and that it leaks... what's your view ?
Thanks
Richard

Like Val said, the ring pin system can be a bit of a struggle to put up, but necessary for strength. another tip is always make sure your central dome is square on the ground, or else all the pods will be wonky, walls floppy, and the groundsheet won't fit, leaving gaps and draughts.
Good luck

It was fine, nothing broke, it didn't leak, it was very spacious. It cost me £75 delivered, I've just sold it on for £50 - can't say fairer than that.
I've changed to a Khyam Kansas/Ontario 8 now, as the wife doesn't always come with us, and the Rage is pretty hard to put up.
When feeding main poles through, ensure they are halfway through, and not just poking through, that should ensure the tensions on the sleeves are even.
It was my daughters job to stand inside to get it off the ground.
