I've just found this forum, and can commiserate with fellow BH weekend campers. We went with a large group to Tywyn on the Monday. After the slightly optimistic weather forecast - "the wind will drop..." we decided to stick it out. Our Vango Colorado suffered a split pole early on, which we splinted. At half-past midnight the wind had changed direction, the tent collapsed on us ( 7 more broken sections of pole) and we spent the rest of the night in the car. We had to bin two tents, a Eurohike 4-man and a cheapo Aldi tent.
The survivors were the very cheap Tesco tents, 2 of which had only minor damage, and the best performing tent was the pop-up!

------------- Camping addict and compulsive tent-buyer.
We should have gone to Tywyn on Monday too, but we decided against it, the owner advised us against going on Tuesday, in the end we went on Thursday and ended up having good weather came back on Sunday. Sorry to all of those people who have lost their tents or had to cut their holiday short.
