Only found out today that i am not working late tomorrow (friday) so  we are able to go away for the weekend.........

As we will be going straight from work we don't want to go too far (blackpool,southport morecambe area ish) .......

OH tried a few places this pm but were all booked up and is going to try tomorrow am.......

I know this is a tall order but does anyone know anywhere or can give good advice as we are fairly new to camping.........

There are loads around the Settle / Skipton area.  That's not far from you is it?  We went to Gallaber Park in Long Preston last weekend and, despite the faulty tent and weather, we found it lovely.  Alternatively I can recommend Knight Stainforth near Settle.

Thanks kj i was heading towards the nw coast rather than the other way as the forecast is better.

However i checked on settle and the forecast looks better there than the rest of yorkshire so i will give them a try tomorrow am...........

were going to Oaklands in Lytham St Annes

great site,we only booked on monday and managed to get in

so you might be lucky, more so if youre not using EHU

come and say hi if you do  were in the aspen! only live down the road from you in Middleton

we stayed at oaklands in early may and had a great time.

As it happens my OH has found us a place at little orchard not far away and am just setting off now...........

I was just about to recommend the Little Orchard site in weeton.  My parents tried this site and we went to visit for the day.  Lovely clean site nice and quiet, staff very friendly, and easy to get to.  We are going to test our new tent next weekend.
