Hi everyone we have just got bck from newhaven campsite our first ever camping trip and im glad to say everyone enjoyed it. We bought the aldi tent and it was brilliant although i have to confess it took 1 and a half hours for us to put up and i was ready to kill o/h we were unable to practice putting it up before we went but stilk but its no excuse we are both really dim.The kids had a great time and slept all night no problem i was expecting them to whinge about noise and the dark  but they loved it. There were a few bits we should have bought before hand but we got all them today and are planning another trip nxt weekend i am hooked

Glad it went OK. We have only had the one trip so far but having just got another tent I am eager to go again. I think it will probably take a few trips or several hours of reading these forums to work out exactly what is and isn't needed on a trip.

So glad you enjoyed it - me and hubby always fall out putting up the tent - last time he forgot the pegs so I gave him loads of abuse ha ha.

The first time is always difficult!  Our favourite arguement is H insisting he knows where he put them away...only to discover as we're packing up the car that he has no idea at all...twice now we have gone without the air-pump and I've ended up blowing the mattresses up myself.  This time it had a slow leak in it...I won't repeat that conversation here

Glad to here that you enjoyed yourselves. I have fond memories of our first camp, getting the tent up in the rain, having the obligatory argument with O/H over who hadn't packed the mallet  enduring the most terrific thunderstorm on the first night and all three kids climbing in with us to share one pod.  Praying the tent would still be there in the morning.  Realising what we did and didn't need to take and having the most wonderful time that we have been hooked ever since.

I just realised you said you were in an Aldi tent.  Good to know it performed well, we are taking ours tomorrow and the weather isn't looking too promising.
