How can you find a reason not to buy an Idaho xl at that price? I'm shaking and sweating at the thought of it

Lol, what made it worse was it was on our 'hit' list when deciding what to buy, and OH was originally happy to pay the full price the week before, she liked it that much, but the bedrooms decided it, myself and son need our own space!
Unfortunately, the power of, in middle of loft conversion, 5 kids, new shoes, uniform, trailer were the decider, but it was close, Oh! so close.
We only started camping 2 years ago. The very first tent was to small for the four of us, then bought a Norfolk lake, followed by a cabanon barbados for weekends. Well used the barbados once and the NL about 6 times and we bought a folding camper! Two years ago my OH didn't want to even go camping. In fact we have only just got our folding camper and 2 weeks ago he didn't even know what they were!
where do you all keep your many tents, i've managed to find enough room for two at present but the trappings that go with us are spread throughtout the house.lol.............. i need a bigger house to house it all i s'pose.
LOL at this thread, we only started camping last year and had a smallish tent and large gazebo. We then decided to buy a large dome tent and a kitchen tent. We then bought a tunnel tent for shorter trips and when teenage daughter stays at home, then we bought a 3 man pup tent for when teenager and friends wish to join us, now we have decided that the big tents are too much for a weekend and are looking for a better quality smaller tent and will start taking the gazebo again, maybe with the pup tent if teenage daughter comes - are you keeping up????
...and this is only the tents we want/need, I won't even get started on the equipment

We haven't even gone on our first family camping trip yet, and I'm already researching which tent I want to take when I go on my own! I got birthday money recently, and previously I'd have spent it on a nice piece of jewellery or a trip to the cinema/theatre. I'm itching to get to the camping store and have a bit of a "spree"!!!
Pegless: if this is going to be your first trip for a long time, I would suggest you be very careful regarding what you buy as the risk is you could end up with a lot of stuff you don't actually need, doesn't match up with your particular personal needs or duplicates perfectly good non-camping stuff you have already at home and which will be fine for camping trips. Better to wait until you're certain about your requirements and then buy the very best quality you can.
I'm a confirmed kit freak and have just spent over three hundred quid on stuff to take on a mountain leadership course on which I'm going next week but although I always buy the best quality, I only buy stuff if I'm certain I'm going to use and it fits my requirements pretty closely. Been caught out too often in the past!
Take care

I'm sure you are probably right, but lets not take all the fun out of things....and let's face it, mooching around camping shop is fun!! (I haven't yet spent a penny of my birthday money yet btw - at least, not in reality. In my head, I've spent it several times over!)
Yep! looks like most of us are addicted to buying more camping stuff. I keep thinking I should try & sell some of the tents I haven't used for some time but its not easy letting go and worth more than the few quid I would get. I also keep trying to find large & lighter tents to take on Cheap fly-drive holidays to Spain. Vango 3 man + tarp = 6kgs of the small 15kg Ry**air allowance but keeping larger kit for "heavyweight camping" in UK. Yep, it's getting expensive. Delta pegs are on the wish list just need the right excuse.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
