Hi, new to the board and got loads of good info from here over the last few weeks.

My family and I have purchased the 6 man set from Argos and we are going on our first trip in a few weeks to Sherwood forest.

Has anyone bought one of these sets from argos, Just curious as to how they performed and what others think of them.

Look forward to your replies.

hello,

i bought one of these for a trip last year and it was ok.  we applied addtional waterproofing in a spray.  if it rains expect water to seep through the zips and the funny little mesh windows.  the hydrostatic head rating (how much rain the fabric can take before it leaks) is only 1200mm which is really only any good in good summer weather and/or light rain (but the extra waterproofing spray helps this).

it will survive if you look after it but don't expect it to last into the next year if you suffered bad weather like we did.  sorry to be the bearer of semi-bad news.

thanks for the replies,

I think we will be using it this year, see how we get on. Then invest in a better quality one next year.
