Hi Alison

I had exactly the same worries as you regarding taking up too much room, we only have the one car but have a large tent, windbreak and utility tent.

We have only been camping the once and unfortunately due to a family emergency the weekend trip got cut short and we only managed one night. We like tto keep ourselves to ourselves too and found everyone on the site we went to really friendly and not at all invasive (nor were we to them), kept the kids quiet in the morning, didn't play any music loud or otherwise, no TV etc

We are going camping again tomorrow and would love neighbours like your family .

Have fun and I hope you all enjoy it!

Sarah

Don't worry about your large tent...our is large too but we are a family of five and if it rains i would rather be inside in comfort!!  large tents don't bother me at all....like other campers I loke to look and wonder at them!  The only thing that bothers me..and a lot of other campers... is instrusive loud music and people!!!  Tent walls are very thin!

We too have a large tent and I do sometimes worry about invading other peoples pitches. We are also a quiet-ish family and like to keep ourselves to ourelves. We have just return from a  great break in Appletreewick, Skipton and we had a noisy toddler on one side and a extremly noisy mother and 3 kids on the other. From the moment she woke up till last thing a night she was shouting at her children whether they had been naughty or not.Aarrggh! It was noise pollution all weekend.I wish I had the courage to have said somehting to her. That bit ruined our stay. But we tried to keep away from the tent when she was in hers etc

Go and enjoy your selves. You are paying the same rate as everyone else!!
