Does anyone else find other campers playing music loud enough for everyone else to hear a pain like me? We stayed on a site last week, and four nights out of 7, people played music until 10pm at night.
I feel that it's rather rude to ruin the peace for others who may not have the same taste in music. It's even worse if you have young children who you are trying to get to sleep.
10pm!!! thats early. we've just got back from newquay. we stayed in a static this time and we had to endure loud music till 2 in the morning, and this was from the site club. and then we had people running round the site shouting, singing etc. until 4 in the morning. i complained twicw and was told they couldnt control the noise as the owners of the site would not fund security. so 10 oclock is a bit early when you compare sites. we will not be visiting this site again!
Name and shame Amanda! So the rest of us can avoid it too lol
I think Midnight is not an unreasonable time to kerb such noises, we need to be reasonable.

summer lodge Newquay. during the day this is a fantastic site. really quiet and peaceful. great staff etc. but once the staff have gone the idiots come out to play. such a shame as i wanted to give the site a good review. But if the owners are spending money doing it up, they should spend money on security. hate to think what it was like up on the camping field. tried not to visit as i missed my tent!
It's starting to really worry me a little, but reviews and folks telling it like it is will be most helpfull.

Just because there was some noise until 10pm, why can you still not give the site a good review. Surely the noise issue is only one part of the review. You have the facilities, locality, nearest shops, etc etc to include.
What people like is well balanced / constructive reviews that cover all aspects of a site, not just the moan about the one bit you did not like.
Most sites that I have stayed on have had a quiet policy after 11pm which I think is reasonable although not many enforce it so it is down to the individual camper to adhere to the rules. I dont mind music on a site on low but would object to someone booming out loud music - whatever the genre and time.
I stayed at a site last weekend which was called 'Serenity' had fantastic reviews and I was looking forward to a lovely serene weekend. The actual site couldnt be further from the name. People up till the 'wee' hours talking, drinking and partying loudly. The owners may have set rules but were never around at night to enforce them I wont be going back.
Now I know Mama Mia is at the cinema at the moment and being of a certain age (40) I appreciate ABBA's vast back catalogue but non stop on a loop for 5 days is somewhat tiresome. The odd thing is that they looked like they'd appreciate Staus Quo more so I was totally confused by their choice in music. It did drown out the semi industrial hum but why did they think the entire campsite were ABBA fans too?!
------------- If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules

ratty you did not read my first post. we had noise until 4 in the morning.
Sorry, yes I did miss that , however because people were noisy until 4am, surely you can mention that in the review, bearing in mind it probably doesn't happen every night / weekend, you were probably just unlucky and had some morons pitched near you.
When you submit a review you are still able to comment on the facilites, or the local surrounding area, or where the nearest shops are, or where activities are for the family etc etc
Wonder if the people blasting out loud music, screaming, signing etc till 4am would complain if their neighbours at home made the same noise?
I think someone should buy their neighbours a full drum kit and let their teenagers stay up late lol.
I agree with Johnny that midnight is a reasonable time to kerb the noise.
Personally I never go to bed at 10pm and certainly dont want to when on vacation but dont make excessive noise and respect other campers.
Week before last there was a Belgian family in a TT pitched real close and they insisted on playing music all day until they went to bed. The first night was ok.. they turned it off around 10.30 but the following night they had it blasting till midnight. And to top it off they had company who had huge voices and kids who could scream loudly and constantly.
So we called the site owner who was there in 5 minutes,
He politley reminded them of the 10pm " Hush up a little and dont pee the neighbours off " rule and peace resumed :)
We could hear people chatting every night until around midnight but would we give the site a good review and recommend it? Hell yes .... fantastic site :)
