heared about montana 6 poles snapping is this common .or just bad luck "PITCHING"

Montana poles are made of steel so I would imagine it would take something drastic to snap one, even in strong winds I would imagine they would bend first.

There have been a few threads on here regarding poles sticking when trying to pull them apart.

Have you had a problem with yours ?

rust formed on the inside of the joints making them very thight ..would imagine a spray with WD40 will solve the problem...will let you know

When the Montana first came out (2005? 2006?) there were some quality problems with poles, but that was addressed by makers/retailers providing sets of replacement poles, so I don't think there is a similar widespread problem now.

We've just come back from a very wet'n'windy week in Devon. Our friends were using a Montana 6 which they found leaked like a sieve and then one of the poles snapped in the wind. Fortunately they managed to lash canopy poles either side of it and fit a load of additional guy lines to the area in question to prevent any collapse !
