First Post here, however I did use the serach tool before posting :o)
Anyway I'm planning on going camping at the start of september and to be honest, I don't really know where to go! I'm thinking of the south/south west and would like a campsite within walking distance of a nice village/town with a few good pubs and restaurants. Of course hot showers are a must and any near by sites to visit would be pleasent.
When we started out we were reccomended FOREST HOLIDAY sites. Weve tried out three of them now and have no complaints. Check out their website. If you are a member of CC&C you get a discount aswell, which actually has paid for our CC&C membership already!
Try Swiss Farm in Henley, not too far from London and Henley very pretty. Facilites fine as well, should be quiet once the kids go back to school - we were there last week and as the weather was bad it was very quiet!

We loved Sea Barn at Weymouth last week ( despite the weather) and would return. Lovely for walking and loads of different places within driving distance. The Jurrassic coast is great with rugged scenery or lovely beaches. Free hot showers within modern ( month-old ) facilities and amazing views.
Not sure about walking distance to a nice pub though - the sister site has a bar though!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
