Has anybody got one of these (or anything similar) and if so, are they any good ?
After making do with a standard coolbox and ice blocks, we've decided to get an EHU. This will also give us the luxury of a heater which means that we're going to give camping a try in October (let's be honest, it can't be wetter than our 'summer' holiday)!
i bought that one last week to replace my campingaz electric one. its quiet and i like it. cant wait to use it camping. sorry cant tell you how good it is but havent tried it out with food yet. but it came highly recommended on here. if you click on search and look for electric coolboxes there are threads about them. sorry i cant be more help.
Hi sleepyol we went to go outdoors at the week end we couldnt make our minds up between that 24L one or the 35LOutwell one. Eventually went for the 35L Outwell for £59.99 with discount card.
Hello, I got one of these last month and used it during our August family holiday, it seemed to work really well and kept very cool our essentials, milk, butter, cheese, bacon cider! etc. I found it produced some water probably due to condensation after prolonged use but not enough to cause concern. I cant comment on how it compares with others as this is our first but it was fine for us.
I have just picked up a Waeco CF-25 from preloved, brand new in the box unopend, anyway I can confirm that this little fridge is a blinder, goes down to -19C not that I need it that low, but when I am in Southern France next July, it will be well upto the job, it will hold at +4C whatever the ambient temp is upto, superb piece of kit, I will have a leisure battery, charged from the car, to keep me going in case of no EHU on site. was considering the Waeco CAB-40 untill I came across this little baby, much easier to pack.
We bought an Adventuridge elec cool box from Aldi. £29.99, filled it with bacon, eggs, steak, butter, milk, cold meat, wine. Put in 2 ice blocks for the journey when it was unplugged. It was great, didn't use half the stuff and brought it home and put in the fridge 4 day later. Kept perfectly. Froze meats before journey and this helps to keep the box really cold.
I now keep less perishable but delicate salad stuff like leaves, tomatoes in a separate basic non electric coolbox as I found they got damaged by the frozen items in the electric coolbox.
