Silly question I know, but whenever we go away the airbeds (campingaz ones) are getting really damp. Not sure if it's from children sweating in sleeping bags, although the sleeping bags don't feel damp, or whether it's cold from the ground. Any suggestions on how to stop it. I've tried a picnic rug under them but didn't seem to help.
its a bit of both I put blankets underneath sleeping bag. Doesn't stop but saves the sleeping bags. I always open up the doors and roll back the bedding and give everthing a good airing In the morning as best I can, this last trip it was damp even under the airbeds but given how wet the grass was to start with it was nderstandable. Thank god I took xtra ground sheets for under the tent or else I would have been in a state!!!!

I've been having the same problem and have just posted a similar question. We thought it was pee until we found it on all the air beds. Next time we're taking some blankets as suggested.

Blanket on the airbed and lift the sleeping bags and airbed every morning to air and make sure you always open doors/windows /vents ect during the day to air the tent

If we'd done that in the Peaks this summer we'd have ended up even wetter!
We couldn't get anything dry, the best we had was light drizzle.
It always rain when we go and we still open all windows and vents the trick is to pick your next tent looking for features that allow you to still do this whilst not allowing rain in
We made the mistake of packing our airbed away whilst still damp last time and were greeted by a yucky patch of mould when we set up the tent last week! I will definitely follow the advice of airing the bedding every day now. I also have found it really cold at night no matter how many layers I wear, will try laying a blanket under the airbed next time.
You need protecting from the cold air in the airbed ,no good protecting the airbed from the cold ground as the cold air around it will cool the air in the airbed anyway ,so best to protect yourself from it
Hi Skatty.We do already put a fleece blanket over the airbed with the sleeping bags and quilt on top.I thought I had read on here somewhere that putting an insulating layer underneath the airbed would stop the cold/damp coming up, but I may have misread!I don’t think the design of our tent helps as the outer tent around the bedroom pod is a good 3 or 4 inches off the ground which lets the cold air in – maybe I need to wrap the blanket around the sides of the airbed!I tried hot water bottles in the sleeping bag this past week and it worked a treat – such a shame I needed them in August though! L
cool! We've just been in Dorset for a week and one night one of my boys woke up, I went into his room and was convinced he had piddled everywhere! Just condensation tho! We had a couple of reallly chilli nights too, next time I will pack a couple of blankets and maybe a sheet for on the airbeds!
It can only be condensation/poor ventilation, as this is a new one to me. There is only ever the two of us in our tent, which is a four-person - so weve plenty of space. I guess if the tent has its proper quota of bodies, all breathing away thru the night, its going to cause a bit of moisture. Particularly if the vents arent over large. I can honestly say ive never seen/experienced condensation/moisture in ours other than on the fly-sheet.
My kids had the bath tub air beds this year. First we put down a foam type roll mat, Air bed on top of that, then a fleece blanket, then a sleeping bag with a duvet over the top. Over the top?! Probably but the kids never stirred until 9am everyday for a week.
Nb. The airbeds were camprite and had a fleece finish and an 'airtight' system. Airtight they were not which was a shame because in principle they were great. Anyway they all went back and i got a refund.

Try towels on the air beds, then they can dry through out the day. We did have this problem at the weekend with my sons bed - but all others were fine. he has a different sleeping bag to us - we think this may be the problem!
