Hi,
We have some broken poles and are struggling to find correct size to replace them. I have seen some longer ones so would it be simple to cut them to length or will they split? Any tips? Or suggestions on where to get coleman replacement tent poles?
Thanks very much
Ruth
I have just been through this all with my tent they don't always make it easy to find the poles you need and yes you will have to cut them to the right size, my friend did mine for me he used a hacksaw and a vice, then he sanded them down to make the end smooth, He did it gently to make sure he didn't break them.
as far as I am aware there are a few different types poles fibre glass, durawrap fibreglass and metal all in different thicknesses for different size tents. so as long as you have the right type of pole and the right thickness of pole cut to lenghth it shouldn't matter who it is manafactured by.
It's very easy to cut fibreglass poles to length. Wrap a bit of masking tape round the pole to prevent splintering and use a junior hacksaw. Sand down the end if you want to.
