Fairly new to all this but have got the camping bug! Were going this weekend but decided to wait until new tent arrives- Mon (Outwell Hartford XL) and hope for better weather / less rain next w/end!

Any feedback on heaters would be appreciated not sure which to go for...we have a toddler and two dogs..so safety a concern

We use a fan heater we bought ages ago in a caravan shop -  bonner eurolectric, 240v~50hz 1000w has thermo cut off and 2 fan settings with 7 heat settings.  I put it on a rubber car mat when we are in the tent.

We also have a gas cannister heater but I'm not that keen on using it incase it gets knocked over and melts something.

Actually been using the fan heater in the house today till the fire got going.

Hi, I use an Outwell fan heater and its great - small, warm and safe. It has a safety cut off  if its knocked over and its high enough off the floor so it wont heat / melt the groundsheet.

             Happy camping xxx

I use a Black Cat by Coleman. Stay clear of this heater with a toddler. The front grill becomes VERY hot while in use.

Starting the fire is easy; the hardest part is learning how to keep the flame!

Hi
1KW = 4.2 amps
2KW = 8.4 amps
3KW = 12.5 amps
Save THIS then you can work out what all your electric utilities
Will use 12volt DC or 240 AC
Regards
Rex.

you should be safe on most sites with a 2000watt heater, but you will have to make sure you do not have much else plugged in at the same time.

We found that our fan heater on the 1200w settings kept our Montana 6 nice & warm even when it was quite cold. Plus it cuts down on condensation if left on overnight.

Halogen heater for us! Has a very sensititive 'cut-out' switch if it gets knocked even very slightly!
