Our pitch booking for this weekend has been cancelled due to flooding but with a week off work we'd still love to try and get away somewhere.
Does anyone have any advice / ideas about where we can go....or are we crazy to even consider it?!?!
We'd like to stay within about an hour and a half of the Severn bridge and we have 2 dogs so need a dog friendly site.....other than that we are fairly easy to please!!! Well, we'd like some sun too if any knows where we can find that!
Newton Mill if it's within your 1 1/2 hour striking radius. Lovely site, good toilets and showerblocks. Bathroom at one end, oh and a pub onsite serving good food.
Nicely laid out site and has EHU's if required.
You have Bath down the road, lots of walks surrounded by pretty villages, and if you fancy Cheddar Gorge, it's dog friendly!!
And if you're really lucky, you might see the site owner smile, but don't let that put you off the site, it's lovely.

Well, you could try one of the weather sites, and enter a few towns in and see what the forecast is for them, for instance, Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare. There isn't much to choose from at the moment I'm afraid. Good luck finding somewhere though !

We must have been posting at the same time...have just started looking at the forecast. We don't mind the rain but need to find somewhere that isn't too waterlogged already!
I have friends down there and it's been pretty wet. It's stopped raining today. The ground at Newton Mill doesn't suffer like some sites, it is sloped but in tiers to a stream. We had a fair bit of rain when we went down there for the Bristol Balloon fest. Hasten to add the balloons didn't get much airtime.
I beleive the pub is dog friendly, although when we ate, it was outside on a lovely evening. The whole site is dog friendly, with a dog walking field, plus plenty more walkies places out of the site.

We're in Bristol and it's rained pretty steadily for the last week and Friday was non-stop heavy rain.
IMO I think you'll struggle to find anywhere around here that isn't heavily waterlogged. We've had so much rain over the last month that there really is nowhere for the rain to go.
We had planned to go to the Lake District this week but had to abort some time ago due to a number of factors - I have to say I'm not sorry about it and I can't imagine we would have gone even if we stil had the time booked off.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
