Most of the camping stuff, tables, chairs, cookers etc is in the roofbox on the floor of the garage. Plates and kitchen stuff is ready to go in a plastic box, sleeping bags in the spare bedroom and the tent is in the garage. Must go check it - but thing the bag its in is probably mouse-proof, its been there two years now and is ok.
Why would mice bother to chew their way through a tent bag if there is no smell of food there?

that's useful. I went to wicks today but they only had one size and they were outside so they were all mucky. I nearly bought a big builder's storage box but when i measured it, it was too small. The khyam XL needs over 3ft height (or length) :(

Our sleeping bags are in the airing cupboard under the lowest shelf, our tent is under the stairs & the frame is in the garage. I wouldn't dream of trying to get the tent up in the attic, we've got two roof hatches now where I made an unplanned exit from up there.
Pmsl! I wish I'd seen that. Did you fall right through, or just get stuck with your little foxy legs and tail dangling down?
Hello Fran
Julie & the kids thought it was hilarious too, they came back from her mothers to find me trying to repair my sons bedroom ceiling. I should think their laughter was heard half a mile away.
In answer to your question, I didn't make it right through the ceiling, it's been a few years since I'd have fitted through them rafters, lol.

can you buy wheelie bins from places like B and Q or do you have to say nicely to the council men "please can you lend me a wheelie bin for my tent" lol
DIY stores sell them, but I doubt if they do one big enough for our Excelsior!
I don't fancy your chances of getting one from the council. Our council won't even give you a bin for your rubbish, the tightwads!
Cupboard under the stairs here, and that's everything!!! I'm not going to put everything too far away, I take a look at it everyday just so I feel closer to the next time we can go camping.
I turned the littlest bedroom in my house into a sort of store room with some old shelving units that I used to have in the Lounge. I put all my camping stuff in there with a load of other junk as well.
I'm not sure I'd trust putting out my tent in the shed outside and I don't fancy dragging it up to the loft as it is quite a weight and taking it up one flight of stairs is bad enough.
