if your tents big , put them inside when you go out for the day, dont forget to leave the telly on, as the bikes are on holiday to , , out sight and all that, at night put them to bed in a sleeping bag in a spare annex, you can chain them together ! , but this could be considered as cruelty, and a prosecution could follow if caught, a well behaved bike wont run away if treated right, remember a bikes not just for xmas,

We sometimes lock them to a tree, or to each other. More often than not though we just leave them outside the tent unlocked - but then none of them are particularly valuable.
We leave them in the tent or outside locked together but our bikes are not particularly expensive. If at all possible we lock them to a fence or something and they are insured if locked up. I do think that campsites are missing a trick here though. I'd pay a bit extra for secure bike storage and there most be loads of campers who cycle and would appreciate the same.
Hi there, been away for a few days so thanks for all the extra advice: the idea of special cycle anchorages or storage is a great one. And whatever Scrimboy is on, I want some of it too (the bikes might enjoy being chained together and what with the spare handcuffs...you might come back and find there's a baby tricycle too!)
