I've been reading a book over Christmas that includes a couple of chapters on Bavaria - mostly Munich. It got me thinking. I rather like the idea of taking the family (2 adults & 2 children aged 11 and 12) to Germany. I have been a number of times before - but never camping - and usually been north so Bavaria would be new to all of us. Anybody been? What are your thoughts and recommendations? Any good camping sites for tents?
We have camped throughout France so are Euro-friendly.
I rather fancy visiting the Beer Gardens (quite scenic I hear) in Munich and hopefully a Bayern Munich game. Plan to take family too. That's for me - what could we do as a family and with the girls?
Went years ago to Kirtzarten in the southern Black Forest and that area is well set up for camping, the site was a Eurocamp site 1980s so not sure if it is still there. The area is beautiful with wooded mountains and lovely places, the best cream cakes in the world!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
