What make is you `sucking air pump `please? We have bought the vacum bags wen we moved and like the idea.
Although, they can reduce the tog rating of sleeping bags apparently
I got a fab pump last year from Asda - it has different nozzles and sucks and blows. It was only £5 odd - they are doing the same for just £6 this year - I have seen the exact same thing for over £20 and on more than one occasion!
I had not thought about the pump for the vacubags so thanks! I had been looking for the bags that you can 'roll' the air out of and they are like rocking horse poo!

Life isn't a rehearsal, be all you can be, follow your dreams and live life to the full!!
Head torch - don't bother with lamps or torches - just get the head torch.
I would recommend fat airic self inflating mattresses. We got rid of our air beds last year and bought these as replacements - what a transformation! They were not cheap - there are four of us - but I was about to give up with camping as I had been so cold at night and blow up beds are noisy! I've slept really well with these mattresses.
Cobb BBQ- very sensible - they are brilliant I have managed scones and baked apples and they are fab for pizza.
We used a small holdall each for clothes, which use to go at the bottom of each bed so you could find your clothes, was murder with a couple of bags between us, you could never find what you where looking for, also when your bag was full that was it, the side zip pockets where good for the kids to keep there game boys as small stuff so they always knew where they where.
A bucket with lid for nightime use and the gas bottle use to fit inside for travelling, also would take 2 tables, one for the cooker and one to eat off and play games.
Hot waterbottles, can sit cuddleing one in the evening if its cold and then refill before bed and rap your nighthings in it to warm them and your sleeping bag up, dont underestimate how cold it gets at night better to take to much sleeping stuff than not enough, the kids use to sit on the quilts on the back seat as we use to take them as well as sleeping bags early and late in the season.
We use to have a solar light that was like a rock, we used it at night to give enough light to use the bucket and if the kids woke up it wasn't pitch dark, didn't take up much room and was very usefull, just have to remeber to put it ourside in the morning.

I wondered about this myself, but then remembered that many electric pumps (e.g. powerd from your cigarette lighter socket) can "suck" as well as blow.
Ahhhh clever. I need to have one of these now!
Also I second the Fat Airic suggestion. We asked on this forum for advice on comfy sleeping as my husband has back trouble, and we were advised Fat Airics and they are great. Not the cheapest but we have used them for visiting friends and I also use mine to sleep in my daughters room with her when she is poorly.
I think a holdall each is also a good idea. We always take a big family case, but actually end up making such a mess trying to find everything, and it may be simpler if we just knew which bag to look in!
Tip-have good quality bags for clothes and keep them zipped closed. Nothing worse than damp clothes yuk!! Also, we take very cheap (ikea) rug for door area, stops the kids from tramping mud into tent and a good area for shoe removal! Finally, see post on camping tipple!! Happy camping
HAve a loo in Aldi. they had the pumps in over Christmas time and ours still has loads left - around £5 I think.
Halfords will have them too as well as Argos.
We too take clothes in indiviual holdalls and keep at teh bottom of ou bed. That way the children pack their own clothes in their hold all and have a rucksack for anything else - no excuse if they forget anything as they do their own packing. I do of course chsck just to make sure when they aren't looking bedcasue one of them would take 2 pair of knickers and socks for a week!!

For this year, we have bought, clear plastic underbed storage packs...not the rigid sort....so we can stash them flat under the kids campbeds, and see what in then and where!! One each...I`ll let you know how they go
