hi Gail

i dont know if you are meant to but we bought an extension lead from wilkinsons with a heavy duty cable and ran that between the tent and utility tent. We kept the fridge in the utility so it was handy.

We keep electric to the confines of the tent- for safety reasons mainly!

We use the dayroom for cooking/using kettle with the gas stove and storing food in the larder (as it does not get as warm as the main tent)

We then keep the fridge in the main tent and charge up a rechargeable light to hang in the dayroom.

One tip is... dont put 2 things on that produce heat at the same time then you shouldnt trip the EHU

As for where you put the kettle etc... thats just personal choice but in the utility would be better regarding condensation.

I am the same as you Gail only got utility tent this year, I must admit I was just planning on using an extn lead for the kitchen tent, as don't see the point having it if going to still cook etc in the tent! I have an outdoor one for xmas lights so was planning on taking that! As for lighting I was planning on getting some of the ufo lights from asda and just keeping one of them in the utility hopefully should be bright enough!

We have a day tent and we put our EHU in there and run an extension into the main tent, as the day tent is pitched right up to the tent we don't have a problem.  We have fridge, toaster, george and light in the day tent, which we set up as a 'kitchen' but need electric in tent for radio, heater, chargers, etc.  We didn't have a problem doing things this way last year.
