Hello, My Amazon Vango 600 has a sown in groundsheet and we also have a carpet for the living area. I want to make sure that a strict "shoes off at the door policy" is in place. So I am looking for some sort of flooring to place outside the door of the tent (under the canopy) for the wife and kids to be able to slip their shoes off on before coming into the tent.
What options are open to me in terms of a groundsheet for the area under the canopy of my tent? Obviously it will have to be breathable so that the rain runs through it onto the grass and doesn't pool on top?
We use a straw mat - the type you get at the beach for £1 that rolls up - we just bin it if it gets too bad and you can lift it and shake it if necessary.
We use a rubber door mat, the sort with the holes in. It's nice and sturdy, provides somewhere to stand while you take your boots/shoes off and allows the grass underneath to breathe.
