Our cat sleeps back in the house, I wouldn't take her camping if you paid me, she'd just whine all night that she wanted to go outside and then when you let her she'd whine that it was cold and want to come back in.
And lets just say that I wouldn't be very popular on any campsite attached to a farm...
Our recently rescued Springer Spaniel already owns the settee, and also snores like a pig. This year will be a first, as not only will this be the dogs first camping trip, it will also be our twenty one year old daughters first camping trip. I think the dog will be ok with no mobile phone, but not too sure about my daughter. Bad reception in the Lakes.
I think the dog will end up in bed with either my wife or daughter.
I'll find out fairly soon though, as we are off in twelve days time to Lanefoot farm Keswick
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
Our lab / collie cross usually sleeps at the bottom of the bed when camping, and under the bed at home.
Jack Russell Terrier, however, likes his comfort and warmth so took to climbing into the double sleeping bag to curl around my feet, as he sometimes does at home under the duvet.
We're used to him doing this so it didn't wake us the first time away from home with him - no, what woke us was him trying to head-butt his way out of the bottom of the sleeping bag. He couldn't understand why he couldn't get out!!! He learned quickly enough, though, and ever since then, he has exited the bed by walking up (usually me) to the pillow end, padding round my head, and hopping down - even at home where the duvet means he could get out anywhere!!!

Both of mine sleep in the pod with me, one where ever he happens to plonk himself down, the other used to sleep on my single inflatable mattress. I spoilt her plans when I bought a camp bed, now she sleeps under the camp bed. Its like having an electric blanket on the bed!!
Mine sleeps in the sleeping bag with me. She doesn't like the cold and loves to keep warm, but as it's a thick double sleeping bag she moves out into the cold for a cool down and then straight back in. She's not a fan of the airbed though!
