I managed a sneaky night without the family in Wales at a site near Llandovery (see my review). Great weather and I'm always amazed at how good my little Eurohike tent is, considering it's over 10 years old and cost me peanuts!
Check out my gallery for a great pic of the view from my tent at dawn on Easter Saturday.

very nice weather - isn't that a big bit that tent for lone camping?
Yeah, it is a 3-man, strictly but I bought it when me and a mate did a cycling trip round the Lake District years ago and I've only used about 3 times since, so not worth buying a new one...
Also, it does take a good 20 minutes to pitch - I imagine you can get smaller ones that take minutes these days?
you can get 3 man pop ups that are up in seconds. still looks like you had the weather matey and it looks like you have been well and truely bitten by the camping bug, dumping the wife and kids on easter sunday is very brave, my wife would go schizo and she was at work!!!
------------- Camped since 2008 and still loving it!
It's all about preparation - I made sure her parents stayed over Easter to help out AND she's going to a spa for the day with friends in a few weeks, so I spent the last couple of weeks making sly comments about how much that is costing and how it would be a great break for her and didn't I deserve a break etc, etc?...
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
