hey i was wondering if anyone could tell me were is best to go camping in the lakes an were camp sites will let us set up camp. theres about 15 of us going, mix of boys an girls aged between 20 an 24. so obviuosly there'll be noise but were not over the top or anything just with there being so many of us. was hoping for a camp site maybe with a lake that we could go swimming in and one that would let us start a little open fire. not a must but like to make the most of the experience. could anyone let me know if they know anywhere. thanks

There is one that already has fire pits and if your a musician you can can stay there for free at weekends - how call is that. Sorry cant remember the name of it. but we have friends that say its fab really cool place. sorry cant be of any help with the lakes though and good luck.

The problem you are going to face is not whether you are over the top but whether the campsite has bad experiences of similar groups.

Sound carries really well around a campsite and any noise is generally tolerated badly after 11pm. A couple talking quietly can disturb their neighbours and a handful of adults with a bottle of wine can keep the whole site awake. I suspect that attempts to book a group of 15 at many Lakeland sites will be turned down once they've ascertained that you aren't a scout group, etc.

Did you want to stay up late, or are you all expecting to be in bed by 11pm and up early in the morning?
