"vanning" was not a derogatory comment, just meant to say that if you go for it,i hope you have many years of enjoyment in your Eriba
Btw i struggle a bit in a tent as due to a nasty bike crash many years ago i am on my 3rd hip replacement and crawling about in tents, rolling in and out of airbeds etc is not the easiest thing in the world.Perhaps that maybe why i am always buying new/different tents/equipment looking for ways to make camping more comfortable for me
No offence intended,as i said i hope you enjoy whatever you decide to do

No offence taken.
Enjoying the countryside and the history is what drives us and we cetainly get out more since we started camping opposed to package holidays abroad of B&B in the UK. The freedome is great.
Sleeping on the floor is becommng a problem though and trying to get in and out of an airbed is becomming a nightmare - especially as it always seems to be me that has to find away to get across the OH for those nightime excursions!
Currently I am finding camping in a tent difficult but I am not going to give up camping because of that. I suppose it is evolution for us. We will still do the same things when camping just sleep, cook and relax in something different which is - hopefully - easier for us and hence more enjoyable?
I would be interest to hear from others who have evolved from tents to something else
We had a short-lived experiment in sharing a folding camper with my best mate & her family last year.Sleeping at a sensible height was good, and being able to shut the kids in the awning while we cooked in the main unit was a real boon. It was a short-lived experiment for a myriad of reasons, mainly nothing to do with the camper itself.
So thank you Dave for showing us them, and you still have plenty of time to mull it all over and make the right decision. Afterall, if you decide against it now there is nothing to stop you changing your mind in the future.
It has been 40+ years since I was last in a touring van and about 25 since we last took a holiday in a static so cannot realy remeber what it was like.
I have - in the past - stated that I would never get in a caravan and even today I still do nit find the white boxes at all appealing. There is something different about the Eriba though - don't know what but definately appealing
