Spent 3 fantastic days at Gibraltar Farm again this weekend, but the second night was spoilt by loud drunken adults in an adjacent field laughing and talking at the top of their voices unitl 5am (I went and asked them to pipe down at 4am but it had little effect).
Next day spoke to Mike the site manager and he sorted it, there was no reoccurence on Sunday night!
Site was very busy but that added to the buzz of the place and the weather was glorious (quite burnt actually) which put smiles on everybody's faces...can't wait to get away weekend after next!
We've just had a lovely weekend. Large groups of young(er) people, but they all had young children so it was quiet at night and lovely during the day. Unlike the first weekend of May, large group or two, no children, noisy chatter 'till 3am!!
Didn't go away but very envious of everyone away last weekend it was lovely - partying until 4am is a bit much though I'd be exhausted, but at least site sorted it for you. We go Sat & good weather predicted so bring it on!!
we have just come back from filey brigg (my first time camping) and it the first night was ruined with a group of people who were so loud, talking after midnight and playing loud music, i think somebody must of said something cos they were quiet for the rest of the weekend., over all we had an excellent weekend
Providing the site deals with them I would return to the site (like we do with Gibraltar Farm), but if it happened regularly with nothing done about it I would boycott the site.
We had a great weekend but i was watching another lot of campers over the field and noticed that the occupants of a tent had probably spoilt the weekend for their neighbours in a caravan.
What they did was pitch up there tent too close to the caravan. Oddly they sat themselves right on the otherside of the caravans windbreak . So you had two couples really close , eating and chatting etc with just a thin windbreak between them.
I would have been really self concious of what i said if it were me cos they must have heard every word of each others conversation.
Strangely if they'd sat at the otherside of the tent , which they could have it would have been ok.
Even the tenters BBQ sent all the smoke etc into the caravan awning.
I'm sure the caravanners weekend must have been marred a bit by this. I'm also sure the tenters didn't mean to spoil things for other people. As there were no marked out pitches i think they were trying not to spread out too much . Shame really.
We've been to Crws Nest Farm near Filey (which as packed)for the weekend and we had the groups shouting and carrying on till 4am as well (not great with 2 teenagers and a 4 year old!)
Think we are going to try a smaller site next time.
We are off Friday so really looking forward to it - we avoided last weekend because the bank holiday before was ruined by noisy drunken folk !! the rules said no noise after 10pm - no fires - yep you guessed, noise till 4am and stuff being thrown onto a fire (God knows what they were burning) but our tents were full of the fumes - Do these people not realise we are all in pieces of material !!!!!!
I went to the Ship & Anchor at Arundel and it was blissfully quiet!
They have a quiet field which is child-free and no groups are allowed, but they are strict on no music at any time and no noise after 10.30. I wandered up to the loo at 10.30 on Saturday and it was dead quiet everywhere except the pub.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
