Use Mcnetts Tenacious Tape. I had a small tear in my Vango V500 and asked for advice on this forum. They advised to use Tenacious Tape which i did, and you can hardly see the repair.

Hi Ims0110,

You say CLOTH square is your tent poly cotton ? Maybe a big difference in the way it has to be repaired, not sure having never had a problem but thought it may be worth pointing out for someone more knowledgeable about these things ?

yeah its the Zanzibar which has the polycotton flysheet - but I find Vango customer service a lot to be desiredhaving had to contact them before on a different matter - the hole is about the size of a matchhead

I know what you mean about Vango customer service its not the best and all they seem to do is direct you back to where you got the tent from.

As I said I am not expert on this type of thing, if it was normal tent fabric then yes tenacious tape is the best way to repair it but polycotton I would say is a different animal.

The best advice I can offer is to try these guys www.attwools.co.uk or 01452 742233 they have an excellent repair department and have been very helpful when we have needed some advice so possibly worth a call.

Good Luck

Gary

so got out tent in garden. threaded needle & realised that the repair patches that came with the tent were for the Amazon, the nylon fly sheet version & not the polycotton - but as the hole was so small, I didn't use any fabric just stitched it instead
