The Kampa junior really only fits little children (your 4 year old might mange to fit in but not for long) I think they are ideal for parents whose little ones are usually in a travel cot but not half as bulky.
Our 7 year old starts the night on a normal airbed - by midway he's at a strange angle and most mornings he's somewhere completely different. I'm not worried about him suffocating (ie he's too old) but I wasn't too confident the little one (only just 2) wouldn't wriggle under us and suffocate.
The internal dimensions are 115 x 60 cm, so I would imagine a max height of 105 cm, once you take into account pillow and wiggle room - although, saying that, my kids tend to sleep curled up...
Another vote for the Kampa junior bed. Fantastic, used it in May for a week for my 2yr old and it was fantastic. He couldn't fall out and slept really well in it.
Thanks for all the advice. Yesterday I bought campbeds from Argos and £8-odds instead of £12.99. I lay on one last night and TBH, felt it was a bit narrow but this morning the kids tried it and LOVED it! Looks like I've found the right thing for them for now. Should I get a foam camping mat to put on top or stuck with a blanket?
Why don't you get the thermal underblankets from Dunelm this is what we use on our airbeds and will also be using on the campbeds when I get them for my two!
