some do and some don't! but to be safe when away have a tube/bottle of seam sealer handy. it's no big deal just run over the seams when dry.
now having a backup tent "1st aid kit2 to hand is another matter (it can get obsessive) but fun! just wait till you've done a few camps and you will be there with your "little" bit of kit ready for whatever.
