When I am not at the tent, Borda is hooked up on a screwy ground anchor, or on one of the poles of the windbreak. He may woof at passing people or dogs, however, he does that even when I am with him!

The only times when I take him to the toilet block and tie him outside is for the last trip of the night for both of us 17

I have three dogs and a large car (trooper), in the back of the tropper I have a huge crate that they travel in.  They are in it daily every day so are happy and used to being in there.  It means that if I do need to pop to the showers when I am solo camping they can go in there and I leave the huge boot door open so they dont get too hot.  We also have a smaller crate which we keep in the tent as the dalmation is a bit of a wuss and would rather be inside the tent than sat outside with us on her tether, unless it is very hot and sunny, then she is happy to sunbathe outside.  Truthfully she is not a very good camp dog, all this lying on the floor is beneath her, she prefers the comfort of home lol so if I am going alone I tent to leave her at home with hubby and just take my two dogs who love camping.

I've booked my eldest dog into doggy day care for one of the days we'll be away nect weekend.  He';s older and doesn't like walking far so he'll probably prefer a day of sleeping while me and the younger dog do more exploring.

After reading the replies on the "Loo or not to loo" thread I shall be taking a bucket for any night time calls of nature so the only time I'll need to leave the dogs tied either to the ground spike or car is when I use the showers.

I agree with a lot of others if your dog is happy to be left in the car shower when it is a cool time of day and be quick
