Well, maybe not actually pick them. And it's the wrong time of year for tulips anyway I think. But it sounds better than off to stuff our faces with Edam and then go on the big roller coasters in Walibi World, yes?

Anyway, we're off in an hour. TT is packed, car is packed (and yes, it's only up to the top of the rear seats) and the bikes are strapped on. all I have to do is have a shower and make some sarnies. Anyone else going to be on the Newcastle-Amsterdam ferry tomight?

Will be back at the start of August, three days before our house-sitting friends leave which should be...fun? Be good without me!

Yeh, I do love the ferry from Newcastle. Two hour drive, plenty of time on the crossing for a good night's sleep and a leisurely dinner and you even get to have a non-panic ridden shower the next morning. It's much better than the nine hour drive to Portsmouth, the greasy pub meal and the mere six hours opf kip you get going via Caen, then you're out on the dockside at some obscene pre-dawn hour.

And the buffet....!
