Hi all, we are due to go on our first camping trip this year on 26/07 and as the weather is hit and miss at the moment I was wondering what people do to stop it getting muddy outside the tent entrance. I was thinking of useing tarpaulin or buying some eva mats but wondered what everyone else did. Thanks
Yes outwell do come with a door mat which use inside the porch but when we went camping last year it got very muddy at the porch entrance but we did go in october lol, I was thinking of buying some eva mats but maybe I won't take the kids that should stop the mud getting into the tent
Just plain old cardboard boxes broken up and/or newspapers work well. We also have car mats (cheap ones form Tesco) and inside we have carpet squares - the ones that are in the sample books that shops often sell 3 for £1 (used to have them for the awning and caravan too)
I keep meaning to buy the mats like Woofers but never get around to it.
We have the bottom of an old airbed that we put out as a "patio" when it's very wet. We also use cotton bathmats in the tent doorway for getting the worst off our shoes before we take them off. They also absorb the water from the dogs' paws and pick up grass etc when it's dry.
I put a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the boot so if it gets muddy we have a free door mat outside the tent. We usually have a cheap picnic rug inside the tent to catch muddy feet etc.
If its really bad then we try to alternate which door in the tent we use to even out wear around the tent. Both our tents have 2 exits!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
