Rice, Prawns and Pork are all classed as high risk foods for giving stomach upsets if not completely cooked through from raw, and kept refrigerated before being reheated if needbe. This is because they are the foods most likely to be at risk of being contaminated by sewrage, either in the case of rice in the waters of the paddy fields where sanitation is poor for both animals used in the fields and humans alike, or in with pork and prawns for what they may eat given the chance.
Im sorry if this upsets anyone, but its better to be safe than sorry and have your holiday ruined by a bad stomach bug. Please take care in reheating stuff and use a food thermometer if you can, my O/H learned his lesson the hard way and spent several weeks in hospital with e-coli and nearly died after eating undercooked contaminated pork overseas.
We tend to eat the same sort of things we would have at home - curry, chilli, spaghetti bolognese, pasta with meatballs, stir fry, "roast" dinner - looking forward to taking my mini oven away next time so I can do Yorkshire puddings!!
In the colder months, I like to eat something moist/wet with some starch like pasta and rice.
I batch cook at home and take food to work to reheat. I shall make extra portion of the meat dishs and freeze them near my camping trips. All I need to do then is to reheat the meat dish, while I boil up some starch and stir-fry some vegetables (or boil some iceberg lettuce and dress with bit of oyster sauce, yum yum).
The meat dishes I like to make are lamb curry, spag bog, chilli, and Chinese stew pork.
I also make stock from chicken carcasses, and shall bring some along to make hearty soups with pasta, fried meat or prawns and vegetables.
I shall also bring my favourite soups in tins, condensed chicken, mushroom or tomato, in case I need something warm and wet in the afternoon between a full English breakfast (I only have this every morning when I go camping nowadays) and dinner.

Breakfast was my sticking point as my kids all eat cereal at home and fresh milk especially in France can be a problem. I got a large plastic cereal dispenser tipped in a box of ready brek and lots of dried milk powder and gave it a good shake. Now each morning just pour and add boiling water from electric kettle.... Four clean bowls and keeps them going for a couple of hours.
On our last trip, I was a bit rusty as it had been about 4 years since we had been camping, managed to forget cooking utensils, but somehowm I managed to cook chicken curry and rice, from scratch on two suitcase stoves with nothing more than a teasppon I used BITB rice and chicken already diced, it was delish. The rest of the time we ate tinned stuff, burgers with salad and coleslaw, toast with marmite/jam for brekkie, cheese rolls for lunch.
I need to get a bit more organised though, and try to eat a bit healthier while we are away.
